On June 17, 2011, Stronghold Engineering, Inc. broke ground on the County of Santa Clara Generating Green Solar Project. The County’s “Generating Green” initiative is starting with the installation of these combined 3.8 megawatt Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems. This $20 million project will consist of PV systems installed at four (4) different County locations both on roof tops and carport structures. In total, there will be over 18,000 panels installed by the end of this year and, when complete, this project will provide an estimated savings to the County of $16.2 million in energy costs over the life of the system.
