Stronghold Engineering successfully completed a $4.8 million design-build project at the Naval Base in Ventura, CA. This project involved the construction of photovoltaic modules, inverters, a monitoring system, combiner boxes, racking and mounting systems, a housekeeping pad, sunshade, and fence, meeting the stringent requirements of the U.S. Navy.

Airfield Lighting System Project at San Nicolas Island Naval Base, Ventura County

Stronghold Engineering completed a comprehensive repair and upgrade of the Airfield Lighting System at San Nicolas Island Naval Base in Ventura County, California. The project involved extensive electrical work, including installing new conduits, lighting systems, and power distribution components, as well as constructing a new regulator building with backup power and upgrading runway/taxiway lights to comply with NAVAIR and FAA regulations.

California State University- Northridge (CSUN) Substation Building Project

This large project involved replacing electrical substations for 15 campus buildings, including transformers, distribution boards, and electrical infrastructure. We self-performed 90% of the work, meticulously planning to minimize campus operational disruptions. The project included comprehensive electrical upgrades, trenching, duct bank installation, and system commissioning, with CSUN accepting nearly all of Stronghold’s design recommendations and was completed within the extended contract deadline, resulting in a more robust electrical distribution system for the university.

University of California, Santa Barbara North Campus Faculty Housing

The $19.4 million North Campus Faculty Housing Phase II Development Project for UCSB in Goleta encompassed 23 buildings totaling 92,436 square feet on 25 acres. Our work included new streets and infrastructure as well as seven single-family homes, 15 duplex units, and a recreation center with a pool and spa. Situated in a coastal area near a golf course and environmentally sensitive habitats, the project also included site preparation for 50 future building pads.

Solar Power Project for City of Santa Clarita Transit Maintenance Facility

Stronghold Engineering partnered with the City of Santa Clarita to complete a fast-track, design-build Photovoltaic Solar Bus Canopy Installation Project in less than 200 days. The project involved installing 2,842 Sharp 240kW panels, capable of generating 5,299,800 kWh annually, across three Solar Busport Canopies and the rooftop of the Buswash Station. Additionally, we constructed a building to house inverters and electrical equipment, and implemented a Power Production Monitoring System for remote data viewing and maintenance purposes.
