In October 2020, the Stronghold Motorsports team, supported by Stronghold Engineering, took home 3rd place in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series championship. Madix Bailey walked away with the 2020 Rookie of the Year award. In addition to their accomplishments on the race track, off the track the Stronghold Motorsports team held a successful fundraiser to support Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Thanks to generous sponsors and a supportive team, Stronghold was able to raise $56,256.31 in monetary and in kind donations through the #Hoods2Help campaign for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
Stronghold Motorsports teamed up with the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to support the fight against pediatric cancer and other childhood illnesses. Stronghold’s #Hoods2Help initiative provided an opportunity for children battling pediatric cancer to design graphics that decorated the race trucks in the last 2 rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital connected Stronghold with 44 children who participated in a coloring contest, creating special designs for the trucks. Sponsors supported the augmentation and replication of the drawings that were then wrapped onto the race trucks. The hood of one race truck was dedicated to all of the children who submitted drawings; it was wrapped with a list containing each child’s name and age.
In addition to the sponsorship opportunities, a silent auction was held to benefit the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Among the auction items were a full size helmet signed by all Pro 2 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series drivers and another full size helmet signed by all Pro Lite Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series drivers. All of the proceeds went directly to benefit Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
Trucks decorated with the children’s designs were driven by Stronghold Motorsports team members Madix Bailey and Irie Bailey and other Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series drivers RJ Anderson, Matt Brister, and Carson Parrish.
The fundraiser was made possible by sponsors Corrosion Specialties, Inc., Stronghold Engineering, Inc., Walker Evans Racing, Terrible Herbst, Lamb Energy, Walter’s Automotive, and Fast Monkey.
