Stronghold was awarded a $7 million contract to provide electrical services in the Arts and Humanities Building at San Diego City College. Working hand-in-hand with Construction Manager Turner Construction, Stronghold will be part of the team that constructs the new 128,000 sf educational facility which will house visual arts, English, foreign language and world cultures among other programs at the San Diego City College. The new facility will also include classrooms, a lecture hall, computer labs and an art studio for drawing, ceramics, sculpture and graphics. There will be a 99-seat theater, dressing rooms and other offices for faculty and support staff. Not to mention a new parking area, kiln yard and sculpture garden. Partnering with Turner, Stronghold will be utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) on this project, which allows each contractor to input their own materials and workflow into a 3D model. This new building is scheduled to be complete by November 2012 and will be dedicated to serving more than 18,000 students at San Diego City College.
