INSTALL PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM NAVAL AIR WEAPONS

Naval Air Weapons Station

China Lake, CA

The Naval Air Weapons Station project located in China Lake, California called for the construction of a ground mounted 50kW PV System to replace an existing fuel power generator. Due to the size of the solar arrays, they required a custom mounting system with reinforced concrete footings. Site construction also included a pre-engineered building and emergency generator.

The project required meticulous planning of logistics as the construction site was located 47 miles away from base camp. Excellent communication was required with the Navy and User Group to coordinate training days in which the roadways were shut down. Despite the presented challenges, the project was completed 120 days ahead of schedule, with more than 3,500 hours worked and zero lost time incidents.
