Vehicle Maintenance Facility

As prime contractor, Stronghold completed the ground up installation of a Vehicle Maintenance Facility for rehabilitating Government vehicles. Stronghold self performed the electrical scope of work, as well as the grading and concrete scope of work. Some of the major electrical related items for this project included the extension of an existing 12.5kV circuit approximately 2,000 feet to an newly constructed pad where terminated to a new 750KVA pad mounted transformer. From this termination point Stronghold brought the secondary source in to a 1200 a main distribution board at 480/ 277V. Power was then distributed throughout the facility using industrial wiring techniques in accordance with the National Electrical Code for Class I Div 2 Hazardous type location. Stronghold connected power to a variety of industrial equipment needs such as: paint booth heaters, exhaust motors, air compressors, paint mix booth, hoists and conveyors, roll up doors, and high bay lighting. In addition to these electrical installations, Stronghold managed a lighting protection certified subcontractor for providing and installing a lighting protection system required for use in the High Desert area where this building was constructed. This project was completed on-time, within budget and with zero lost time accidents and was awarded the Commitment to Excellence Award by the Federal Prison Industries, UNICOR.
