Stronghold Engineering Inc. (SEI) completed a $3.8 Million project for Bureau of Indian Affairs the Indian Bench Bridge project providing repair for the South Fork Band of the Te-Moak Tribe located on South Fork Indian Reservation, Nevada. The project required to remove and dispose of existing debris from the former bridge to grade and place surface coarse aggregate for 0.26 miles of roadway and construct the bridge on Bureau of Indian Affairs Route 3. The Indian Bench Bridge project aimed to replace aging infrastructure that had been in place for several decades. This bridge had been rendered unsafe for public use, which necessitated action to address the community’s transportation needs and safety concerns. The purpose of this project was to create a new bridge that can withstand extreme weather conditions and provide the community with a safe and reliable crossing. The BIA Indian Bench Bridge project doesn’t just improve infrastructure—it’s making a positive impact on the community. The new bridge and roadway will help to connect the South Fork Band of the Te-Moak Tribe with neighboring communities, providing easier access to employment opportunities, healthcare facilities, and education centers. Stronghold Engineering is grateful to acknowledge the support from the South Fork Band of the Te-Moak Tribe, as they have helped tremendously in the project from start to finish. We had difficulty accessing the job site, which created problems when trying to dig footings and install culverts. Despite these challenges, our team worked diligently to design a bridge that would withstand the environmental conditions while also meeting all safety and engineering standards.
