The ribbon cutting for the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) P-740 Project on San Clemente Island, California was held on August 8, 2012. Our own Beverly Bailey, Kamel “CHIEF” Khalil, Greg Matthews, Pat Walls, and Mitchell Barnett flew to the island to attend this event that showcased this amazing LEED Gold project. The Stronghold team produced an exemplary net-zero project with no power from the grid with the installation of PV Solar Panels and Vertical Axis Wind Turbines on two three-story, CMU block buildings with metal frame roofs that were constructed on an island 68 nautical miles offshore from San Diego. We should all be proud to be part of a team that could not only complete such a logistically challenging project, but also a project that exceeded the expectations of all involved. san-clemente-island-ribbon-cuttung
