Stronghold Engineering, Inc. was the prime contractor for this fast-track, design-build, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded solar photovoltaic project. This grid connected, roof mounted, solar PV system project spans across two (2) equipment canopies at a fully operational and occupied naval facility in Seal Beach. The system generates more than 387,000kW per year. The project was awarded to Stronghold through the Navy’s competitive best value RFP process. The Navy selected Stronghold because its proposal represented the most kW within their budget and offered additional warranties, which was determined to be the best value to the Government.
