Marine Corp Air Station (MCAS), Miramar, California
Cost: $7.3 Million
Size: 17,000 sf
Project Type: Design-Build, New Construction, LEED Gold Certified
This $7.3 million LEED GOLD Certified Project consisted of the design and construction of a new single-story Golf Clubhouse Complex on the site of the existing Clubhouse at MCAS Miramar. The Facility was the first LEED Gold Certified Facility for the Marine Corps in the Nation. The work included demolition of an existing clubhouse to accommodate the new clubhouse with outdoor dining terraces, significant site and landscaping work, and a catering pavilion.
Stronghold Engineering, Inc. performed as the Prime Contractor on this project, not only managing the Design and Construction for the Project, but self performing more than twenty percent (20%) of the construction work, including all electrical, civil, storm drain and site concrete work.
This project was awarded to Stronghold as a LEED Self-Certified Project, but during the design, the Navy and Base secured funds to modify the contract and secure LEED SILVER Certification. Team Stronghold delivered a LEED GOLD Certified Project on time and within budget.
