Florence - Employee Spotlight
Florence started working for Stronghold on June 18, 2001. Currently, Flo is working as CQC Manager at our Prado Dam Project, which is a 15M project that requires construction of a sewage treatment dike along with associated maintenance/access roads and trails, fencing and gates, hydroseeding and storm water drainage systems. This regional flood-control contract is part of a larger project that will provide levee, creek and dam projects stretching from Orange County to the San Bernardino Mountains to provide the area with protection from a flood.
Florence's favorite projects while working for Stronghold include Rio Salado in Arizona and the Child Development Center at Luke Air Force Base. Rio Salado was a horizontal project and CDC was a vertical project. Flo enjoyed these because he had the chance to apply his knowledge in engineering and at the same time gain more knowledge and experience during the course of each project's completion. Flo stated, "Every project in the construction industry is unique from each other, challenge and pressure are always part of the game."
Florence's family includes his wife Myra and two boys, Kyle and Karl. Flo shared that although he and his wife have been married for many years, it feels like it was only last week when they got married. Florence said, "Raising a family is a lot of fun and sacrifices at the same time. Everyday, I thank the Lord for this wonderful blessing He gave us."
Florence would like to spend his next vacation with his family in a place where they can enjoy time together, Hawaii or Florida would do just fine for him!
His goal is to secure the future of his family, send his kids to school, and for him and Myra to enjoy the rest of their lives together.

Mitch - Employee Spotlight
Mitch joined Team Stronghold on August 20, 2001 as a Superintendent. Mitch has worked on a lot of projects during his five years with Stronghold and said that he enjoyed most all of them. His favorite project is the Pediatrics ICU in San Diego. He enjoyed this one because it was a design build project and all the people involved had a similar passion for wanting it to come out great. Mitch shared that being able to build something that would make a difference in the quality of care that military personnel and their children receive has touched him the most. When the PICU project was complete, the employees at the Naval Hospital, patients and parents commented that the place looked beautiful and well planned-out.
Mitch's family includes his wife Sue, daughter Kristin and two twin boys, Ryan and Kevin. Sue is self-employed and has an HOA project management company that keeps her busy. Mitch's daughter Kristen is currently attending Cal State San Marcos pursuing a business degree, and Mitch's twin boys are both enrolled in ABC and at the tail end of their second year.
In Mitch's free time, he likes to spend time with his kids. They get together on Friday nights, drink beer, eat pizza and talk about the week and weekend. His family likes to spend time riding dirt bikes and snowboarding and Mitch likes camping and going to the beach.
