Dave - Employee of the 2nd Quarter 2008
Dave started working for Stronghold as Project Superintendent in July of 2001 and has been doing an outstanding job ever since. Dave is not only a self-starter, but also is a great Project Leader who is capable of running a large complex projects with very little oversight. Dave quietly leads his projects, and in the end, we are left with an Outstanding Evaluation and a very happy client!

When asking Dave he enjoys most about his position at Stronghold, Dave explained; he is amazed at how many people are on the outside looking in at Stronghold, meaning, that others are consistently asking him what is going on in the Company. Dave shared that all the interest in Stronghold, makes him feel very proud to work for the Company and he loves to share with others all the great things that Stronghold does.

Dave's family includes his wife Tina and his three wonderful children Chad, Shawn and Shannon. In Dave's free time, he and his family spend time taking in sporting events, attending Shannon's dance competitions, snowmobiling and riding their toys in the desert.

Kurt - Employee of the 1st Quarter 2008
Kurt started working with Stronghold as a subcontractor back in the late 90s. As a subcontractor, Kurt provided Stronghold with cabinetry services on many of our VA and Navy Projects. Kurt was also responsible for the new and improved office upgrades at our prior Riverside office and we are lucky enough to have some of Kurt’s fine crafted cabinetry in our corporate office as well.

We were very fortunate to have Kurt join the Stronghold Family as Assistant Estimator in 2006 and Kurt has been a tremendous addition to our Estimating Department. Kurt was selected as Employee of the 1st Quarter 2008, because over the past two years he has taken on a variety of roles and responsibilities, without complaint, and he performs his tasks successfully. Kurt sets the example for others to follow by being proactive and coming up with innovative and creative ideas to help make the company be the best it can be.

Kurt is well known for his beautiful craftsmanship and in his free time he enjoys working with wood. He also likes to spend time snow skiing and, of course, he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his beautiful wife, Charlene, and their 11 year old daughter, Ashton.

Kurt shared that Stronghold is the first company that he has enjoyed working for and one of the reasons that he loves his job is because he likes all the people he works with – Go Team Stronghold!

Rosie - Employee of the 4th Quarter 2007
Rosie joined the Stronghold Family as Project Coordinator in August of 2006. Rosie is an instrumental part of the Estimating Department, Project Management Department and the Electrical Division. A few of the reasons that Rosie was selected as Employee of the 4th Quarter is because she never complains, is always available with assistance and always has a smile on her face.

In Rosie’s free time she enjoys spending time with her three children, Christina who is 16, Rafael who is 15 and Alfonso who is 13. Rosie also enjoys reading and she is a huge NBA and NFL fan.

Rosie shared that she loves her job and what she does because it’s exciting work. For future goals, Rosie would like to take over the world of construction and retire from Stronghold.

Shane - Employee of the 3rd Quarter 2007
Shane started with Stronghold in April of 2005 as an IT Assistant and was transitioned into an Assistant Project Engineer starting with the UNICOR Victorville Project. Currently, Shane has been working as Assistant Project Engineer the Ontario Perimeter Fence Project (a 10.5 million dollar project) and will soon be transitioning to the San Bernardino Court House Project.

Shane was selected as Employee of the 3rd Quarter 2007 for his willingness to always lend a hand whenever a need arises and his proven ability to be a quick study in the construction field. Shane shared that he enjoys his job and explained that the favorite part of his position is that things are always changing.

In Shane’s free time he is working on wedding planning with his future wife, Valarie. Shane was excited to announce that he will be getting married this year on August 2nd. In addition to wedding planning, Shane also helps out as a Referee for the High Desert Youth Soccer League.

Joe - Employee of the 2nd Quarter 2007
Joe joined the team in September of 2003. Joe was nominated for Employee of the Quarter because of his great attitude and commitment to his work. Joe’s actions show that he cares about every employee at Stronghold and is always available when you need him. One of Joe’s many nominations stated the following, “The 24/7 schedule of information does not exist without Joe. Although you can’t see what Joe’s doing, he is working hard to make our work easier for us each day. He makes the work go around.”

Joe says that his favorite thing about working for Stronghold is: “You are not just working for yourself, but, that you are also working for your team and to enable those around you so that we can all do our job and be successful as a company.”

When Joe is not working, he loves spending time with his family, listening to music and reading.

Joe’s goal is to work on building a home, a family and to keep growing on a personal and professional level.

Don - Employee of the 1st Quarter 2007
For the second time, a Stronghold record, Don was selected as Stronghold’s Employee of the 1st Quarter 2007. Don has been a long-term, faithful, hard-working, and dedicated Stronghold employee for more than 12 years. Don has worked on almost every type of job imaginable, but what Don loves the most is Stronghold’s airfield lighting projects. Currently, Don leads Stronghold’s crew on its MCAS, Miramar Airfield Lighting Project ($10.5 million) and is having a blast leading Stronghold to success on that Project with on-time completion and zero lost time accidents. What really gets Don’s juices flowing is the low-flying overhead Herriers, F-18s, and F-22s, and the constant military personnel on-site. The MCAS, Miramar Airfield Lighting Project, is truly a job Don can be proud of.

Don’s family includes his wife Mackie, their two daughters, Erika and Jennifer, and their son Patrick.

When Don has free time, he likes to spend time with the family and work around the house.

Don’s goal is to continue to grow and develop with the company. He also shared his dream of working on a fair off Exotic Island with his wife by his side in a grass skirt.
